This is a very clever cartoon, to answer question 1.) I feel as if we are bound by our debt because when you develop bad credit you have to live with the consequences. For instance if you own a credit card and "spend" trillions more than you are capable to pay off then you should try to cut spending until the debt is less rediculous, right?
